The Itinerary
Here is my traveling schedule, where all of my experience in the classroom and the field will be accounted for.
First Stop: Mercer Field Work Placements
Total field work hours completed: 61.25
Fall Semester 2017: I completed these fieldwork hours in a second grade classroom at Heard Elementary School in the Bibb County School District.
Spring Semester 2017: During this time, I had the opportunity to learn and observe in three different pre-school/kindergarten classes at St. Joseph's Catholic School, Cirrus Academy, and Ingleside Baptist Church pre-school.
Second Stop: Academy EDU
Through this course, I had the opportunity to observe in elementary, middle, and special education classes, where I had amazing experiences. Additionally, I participated in programs such as the Great Kindness Challenge, which allowed me to teach my own classes of students!
Third Stop: Swim Lessons
At the age of fifteen, I began teaching swim lessons at a pool in my community, and this is when I first realized my passion for teaching and helping others grow and succeed. My first year of swim lessons opened up numerous doors for me. I taught and continue to teach Adaptive Aquatics, which are swim lessons for special needs students, and I organized and continue to host Get your Goggles On, which is a free swim lesson program for impoverished children.
