Hey there! Thanks for joining me on my learning express! My name is Jessie Lewis, and I’ll be showing you around my experiences in the world of learning. To start off, I would like to share a little about me. I am a sophomore studying Early Childhood and Special Education at Mercer University. My experiences here have already improved my teaching skills and have given me new insights to teaching. I have recorded many of my experiences in the classroom on this blog, and I am excited to share them with you!

 

I graduated with an honors diploma from Hilliard Davidson High School while I also studied education at the McVey Innovative Learning Center for two periods every day. This education program, known as Academy EDU, offers future educators the opportunity to dip their toes in the world of teaching by granting students the chance to observe amazing teachers. Back at the Innovative Learning Center, Academy EDU also focuses on the integration of technology in our lesson plans, cultural diversity in the classroom and the influence of innovative and creative thinking. Additionally, they certify their students in CPR and First Aid, so that they are prepared for the classroom.

 

I decided to become a teacher after teaching swim lessons at my community pool. Through this experience, I fell in love with teaching, using creative ideas and encouraging students to accomplish their dreams.
